Memory of the World: The exhibition “Smolensk Kremlin in the artifacts of libraries and archives of the Union State” opens in the Brest Hero-Fortress Memorial Complex

The exhibition Smolensk Kremlin in the artifacts of libraries and archives of the Union State opens in the exhibition hall Museum of war – Territory of peace of the Brest Hero-Fortress Memorial Complex (Republic of Belarus) on August 12, 2022. The exposition will run for two weeks, then it will be brought back to Smolensk, and in 2022-2023 it will be showcased in some cities of Russia and Belarus.

The presentation of the exhibition will become a part of the forum Cultural Space of Russia and Belarus as the basis of the ideology of the Union State. The exposition features copies of over 30 unique blueprints, photographs, as well as letters from the XVII-XX centuries that contain information on the fortress. The documents were collected within the framework of the Russian-Belarusian project, initiated by the Brest Fortress Museum. The National Library of Belarus, the Russian State Library, the State Historical Museum, the Shchusev Museum of Architecture and other cultural institutions of the two countries take part in the project.
