Marking the Year of the Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia: The mobile exhibition “Power of Traditions: Peoples of the Russian Federation” opens in Astrakhan
On August 20, 2022 the All-Russian mobile photo exhibition Power of Traditions: Peoples of the Russian Federation opens in the courtyard of the House of Friendship and the House of Crafts of the Astrakhan Regional Scientific and Methodological Centre of Folk Culture, marking the Year of the Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia.
The exposition showcases ethno-cultural diversity of Russia: festivals and holidays, rites and crafts, national costumes. The main characters of the photographs are the keepers of traditions: adults and children, participants of folklore groups, musicians, explorers, masters of decorative arts, those who preserve and popularize the culture and traditions of the peoples of Russia.
The photographs were taken by the winners of All-Russian contests of photography, organized by the Centre of Culture of the Peoples of Russia of the Polenov State Russian House of Folk Art. These are participants from Republics of Khakassia, Kalmykia, Adygeya, and Chuvash Republic, Arkhangelsk, Orenburg, Tver, Chelyabinsk, Saratov, Voronezh, Rostov, Kirov Regions, Trans-Baikal, Altai, Krasnodar Territories, City of Moscow, and other regions of Russia.
On August 21, the mobile photo exhibition Power of Traditions: Peoples of the Russian Federation will be showcased in the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theatre, from August 22 until September 1 – in the House of Friendship of the Regional Scientific and Methodological Centre of Folk Culture, and from September 1-15 – in the Illusion movie theatre.
The presentation of the photo exhibition took place on May 12, 2022 on the Chistoprudny Boulevard in Moscow. Now, Astrakhan residents also have an opportunity to see these unique pictures.
