Territory of Russia: Festival of the Russian Geographical Society takes place in the Zaryadye Park in Moscow

Visitors to the Zaryadye Park have an opportunity to make a unique trip around Russia and learn numerous interesting things about its nature and sights. On August 18-28, 2022 the V Festival of the Russian Geographical Society (RGO) will take place there. The program includes over 80 lectures of famous scientists and travelers, meetings with photographers and cinematographers, as well as intellectual quizzes for children and adults.

Musical and dance groups from various Russian cities (Rostov, Cherepovets, Ulyanovsk, Krasnodar, Voronezh, Kursk and others) will perform on the stage of the big amphitheater every day. Screenings of documentary films about nature and geography of Russia will also be organized there.

Lectures will be available in the scientific and educational centre Nature Center. Two cycles of meetings with scientists and travelers have been prepared for guests of the festival. The first one is dedicated to rare and endangered species of animals. There will be talked about saiga antelopes, Siberian cranes, Altai argali, snow leopards, Siberian tigers, Amur leopards. The second cycle combines stories about travelling in Russia. They will tell about the most beautiful places of the country, as well as about scientific expeditions and archeological digs of the last years.

Festival of the Russian Geographical Society is one of the largest cultural and educational events, dedicated to geography. In 2022, it will take place in Moscow for the fifth time. The main goal of the festival is to show the diversity of Russia and the world.
