Memory of Russia: The exhibition, timed to coincide with Air Fleet Day, presented in the Victory Museum in Moscow

The exhibition, timed to coincide with Air Fleet Day celebrated on August 21, has opened in the Victory Museum (Moscow). The exposition features about 30 authentic items from the collections of the Museum that tell about the Soviet aviation during the years of the Great Patriotic War.

«Thanks to the new project, visitors will have an opportunity to learn about various types of aviation, its tasks and contribution to the Victory», curator of the exhibition Anna Korolyova said.

Visitors to the exhibition will see technical devices of the 1940s that were used by Soviet pilots, personal registers of military merits, flight uniform of the wartime. The exhibits also include rare wartime photographs, many of which are presented to the public for the first time.

Most of the rarities have been provided by the relatives of participants of the war – pilots and technical specialists.

The exhibition is complemented by a special project of TASS Flying Ships that tells about the ekranoplan, created by an engineer Rostislav Alekseyev, whose work path has started in the years of the Great Patriotic War.

The exhibition has opened within the project The War: Day by Day and will run until September 29.
