Science and Society: The exhibition “Foundation of the Future”, spotlighting the research work of modern Russian scientists, presented in Moscow

The Polytechnic Museum (Moscow) presents the new exhibition Foundation of the Future in its Open Collection. The project, organized jointly with the Russian Science Foundation, tells about the research work of modern Russian scientists and about the ways it is connected to the legacy of the past.

Visitors to the exhibition Foundation of the Future are invited to take a trip across the universe of scientific discoveries. Through the stories of Russian scientists, guests will have an opportunity to learn about achievements, discoveries and developments that are currently conducted in the country with the support of the Russian Science Foundation, as well as about scientific and technical legacy of the past that made all of these discoveries possible.

The exhibition Foundation of the Future provides a unique chance to visit the Open Collection of the Polytechnic Museum and see rare items from its collections. Part of them is associated with scientific fields, in which 12 heroes of the exhibition work.

Open Collection of the museum also includes many other objects, studying of which makes it possible to learn about the past and to be inspired for the future. The collections currently feature over 217 thousand items. Numerous collections of the museum are directly associated with the history of scientific studies, among them – Laboratory Equipment, Geophysical Equipment, Power Sources, Electric Machines, Models of Steam Engines, and others.

The partner of the exhibition, the Russian Science Foundation was established on the initiative of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin at the end of 2013. It finances scientific and scientific-technical programs and projects in the area of fundamental research. The foundation has already supported over 60 thousand researchers.

The exhibition will be interesting for schoolchildren and students, as well as young researchers and everyone who wants to learn more about science.

The exhibition is presented in the Open Collection of the Polytechnic Museum located in Technopolis “Moscow” at Volgogradsky Avenue, 42. It will run until October 30.
