Libraries and Society: The IX International Congress “Library as a cultural phenomenon” takes place in the National Library of Belarus

The IX International Congress “Library as a cultural phenomenon” takes place in the National Library of Belarus (Minsk) on September 15-16, 2022.

The IX International Congress is timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the National Library of Belarus.

This year’s theme is “Digital transformation of libraries: tradition and vector of development”.

The congress provides for learning the history of librarianship in Belarus and foreign countries, discussing the regulatory legal support of library activity, exploring innovative approaches to organization of library collections and user service, analyzing the main directions of scientific and research activity of libraries, professional competencies of library experts in modern conditions and others.

The XXVI General Meeting of the Noncommercial Partnership “The Library Assembly of Eurasia” will take place within the framework of the congress.

Specialists of libraries, museums, archives, scientific and research organizations, educational institutions, publishing houses, representatives of state agencies and public organizations are invited to take part in the event.
