The Moscow Museum of Cosmonautics and the National Electronic Library have prepared the special interactive project Citizen of the Universe Tsiolkovsky, marking the 165th anniversary since the birth of the Soviet scientist, pioneer of the Russian cosmonautics Konstantin Tsiolkovsky.

The project’s website features unique digitized documents from the collections of various Russian libraries, as well as from the archives of the RAS. Thanks to the special project, materials from numerous institutions are brought together in one place for the first time and are available to a wide range of readers.

In addition to various drawings of inventions and technological works, the project also reveals other sides of Tsiolkovsky’s persona. Throughout his life, the scientist has written over 130 articles and essays, and more than 80 manuscripts: about 50 of them are philosophical, 15 are scientific, 60 are technological, around 10 are scientific and popular. Tsiolkovsky was also an author of fiction stories – some of them are also featured on the project’s website.
