Internet and Society: Participants of the “City of Tasks” project published over 10 thousand photographs on the Discover Moscow portal

24 October 2022

This year, over 10 thousand new photographs of historical buildings, monuments and territories have been published on the Discover Moscow portal. They were taken by Moscow residents – participants of the City of Tasks project.

Since the end of last year, the project’s platform regularly updates online-tasks with a list of objects, located in various districts of Moscow, for participants to take pictures of. Users get points for the successful completion of the tasks. Points can be exchanged for various prizes, and the best photographs are published in the Discover Moscow portal’s photo gallery.

“The Discover Moscow portal allows residents and guests of the city to learn not only about the key tourist landmarks, but about the little-know sights of the city as well. Now, thanks to the City of Tasks project, anyone has an opportunity to share their photographs of old buildings and monuments. By completing the tasks, users not only help to update the portal with relevant content, but also learn about different cultural objects all over the city. Over 700 people have already joined the initiative”, – representatives of the press office of the Moscow Department of IT stated.

Citizens have already successfully completed over four thousand tasks. Their photographs have appeared on the pages of the Tretyakov Gallery, Trinity Church of the Sviblovo Estate, buildings of the Winzavod Contemporary Art Centre, Gorbunov Palace of Culture, Demidov Palace, House of Prince Gagarin, and other buildings.
