Science and Society: Geographical Dictation held in Russia

On October 30, 2022 the Russian Geographical Society hosts the eighth Geographical Dictation. This year, slogan of the educational event is “My region. My country. My discoveries”.

The Dictation is held in person and remotely at the specially organized sites, as well as online – on the event’s website dictant.rgo.ru. At the traditional and remote sites, the Dictation will start on October 30 at 12:00 local time. The online version of the dictation will be available from 14:00 on October 30 until 14:00 on November 10, Moscow time.

Geographical Dictation is held annually by the Russian Geographical Society on the initiative of Chairman of the Society’s Board of Trustees, President of the Russian Federation V. V. Putin since 2015. Its main goal is to popularize geographical knowledge and to increase the level of interest for Russian geography among citizens.
