IT and History: Multimedia guide of the Victory Museum spotlights the parade on November 7, 1941 in Red Square and other events of the Great Patriotic War

A multimedia guide has been launched for the exposition Feat of the Army, revealing details about the presented exhibits. The feature is implemented within the framework of the national project Culture.

Through the digital platform Artifact, visitors to the museum will have an opportunity to learn more about the relics of the Great Patriotic War. Over 40 items from the exposition Feat of the Army have been selected to participate in the project. These are weapons, uniforms, personal belongings of remarkable commanders, picturesque works. Guests will be told about the history of production and combat usage of Soviet legendary weapons – for example, the PPS submachine gun and the Degtyaryov machine gun, as well as foreign weapons – German machine gun MG-42, the Maschinenkarabiner 42, and others. Audio clips recorded for the portraits of Marshals Georgy Zhukov, Kliment Voroshilov, Vasily Sokolovsky, Lieutenant General Mikhail Yefremov and other outstanding military commanders, will spotlight the heroes’ biographies. Visitors will also see picturesque paintings depicting various events of the wartime – the parade on November 7 in Red Square and the Victory Parade, battle scenes and sketches of besieged Leningrad. They will also hear the stories about the artists’ fates and fragments of the history of the Great Patriotic War captured by them.

The work on the exhibits’ descriptions in the AR-system Artifact and the audio guides has been conducted from March 2022. History researchers will have an opportunity to get new experiences by visiting the museum.
