22 November 2022

The exhibition Printed word about the submarine fleet and more…, formed by the State Museum of the History of St. Petersburg together with the Marinesko Museum of the History of Russian Submarine Forces, has opened in the Printing Museum.

The exposition features printed publications of the 1860s–1980s, dedicated to the navy in Russia in the XIX–XX centuries. They include monographs of different years that tell about the history, theory and practice of shipbuilding, posters of sports events and concerts, dedicated to the memory of remarkable Soviet submariners, posters of the 1940s made by the order of the Main Political Directorate of the Navy, periodicals of fleets and naval educational institutions, as well as interesting editions from private libraries of submariners.

Visitors to the exhibition will have an opportunity to explore rare bibliographic publications, for example, Artillery Magazine of the Artillery Committee, issued in 1863, and the textbook Cosmography Course of 1910.

The exhibition will run until December 20, 2022.
