Society and Youth: The 1st Congress of the Russian Movement of Children and Youth held in Moscow

The 1st Congress of the Russian Movement of Children and Youth takes place in the House of Youth, organized at the site of the Moscow Manege, on December 18-20, 2022.

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin made a video address to participants of the Congress.

The Congress brought together 1393 delegates from all subjects of the Russian Federation. During the plenary session, they approved 12 main directions of the movement’s activities by a majority vote. The directions include education and knowledge, culture and art, voluntarism, patriotism and historical memory, sport, healthy lifestyle, media and communications, labour, profession and owning business, ecology and nature protection, tourism and travel.

Participants of the congress chose the name of the movement – Movement of the First.

After the plenary session, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov said that the first branches of the Russian Movement of Children and Youth will open from December 20 in the schools where children have expressed such a desire.

He also reminded that next year was declared the Year of Teachers and Mentors by the President of Russia, and events aimed at increasing the prestige of the teaching profession will be held within its framework.
