For the first time in 2022, a new format for planning exhibition activities was tested. Since October, the directors of museums subordinate to the Ministry of Culture of Russia have been presenting their landmark projects, which will be held in 2023.

Already in January, the main exhibition project of the Victory Museum – Six Strikes of Victory will open a series of expositions, which will repeat the sequence of the largest events of 1943 and will be complemented by cultural and patriotic activities in the museum.

The year in the Moscow Kremlin Museums will begin with the project Heavenly Host. Image and Veneration. Three exhibitions will be held in the Far East, including Conquerors of the Seas and Gifts of the Oceans in the Monuments of the Moscow Kremlin Museums.

The State Russian Museum together with the State Tretyakov Gallery will mark the 175th anniversary since the birth of Vasily Surikov. Over a hundred paintings and graphic works by Surikov will be presented in the regions, including such famous paintings by the master as Menshikov in Beryozovo, The Capture of Snow Town, The Conquest of Siberia by Yermak Timofeyevich, Suvorov Crossing the Alps, Stepan Razin.

The exhibition The Gran Duchy. Treasures of the Vladimir-Suzdal Land in the State Tretyakov Gallery is timed to coincide with the 1000th anniversary of the first chronicle mention of the city of Suzdal in the Tale of Bygone Years, which will be celebrated in 2024. The exhibition will feature about 600 unique exhibits from the collections of the Vladimir-Suzdal Museum-Reserve. It includes icons, pictorial embroidery, monuments of white stone carving, church items, priestly vestments, old printed books, bell casting, and archeological treasures. Some of the historical monuments will be exhibited for the first time.
