History and Culture: Exhibition “Ilya Glazunov. Kulikovo Field” from the collection of the Tula Museum of Fine Arts presented in Krasnodar

The exhibition Ilya Glazunov. Kulikovo Field from the collection of the Tula Museum of Fine Arts is open at the Kovalenko Krasnodar Regional Art Museum.

Visitors will have an opportunity to see 22 works of the famous artist, dedicated to one of the most important events in Russian history – the Battle of Kulikovo.

The exposition features portraits, landscape paintings, battle scenes. The author vividly captured all the significant moments of the great battle: the preparation and gathering of the soldiers (Seeing Off the Troops, Enemy Camp, The Eve. Before the Battle of Kulikovo), battle (The Duel, Temporary Superiority of the Tatars), victory (Flight of the Tatars), and return home (The Return).

The leitmotif of the Kulikovo Field series is the theme of the native land in the hour of severe trials. The central images for the artist are Sergius of Radnonezh, the mastermind of the victory on Kulikovo Field, and Prince Dmitry Donskoy, who led the Russian army.

The exhibition will run until February 12, 2023.
