
Society and Culture: Russian Geographical Society accepts works for the photo competition “The Most Beautiful Country”
The Russian Geographical Society has announced the start of accepting works for the 9th photo competition The Most Beautiful County. The traditional international campaign is dedicated to the preservation of the wildlife of Russia and teaching of respect for the environment. One can send photographs to the project’s website until April 16, 2023.
Over the years of its existence, The Most Beautiful Country has become the largest and most emotional Russian wildlife photo competition. The works of its participants form an impressive image that gives an idea of the incredible beauty of Russia. It causes the desire to travel, make discoveries, admire and be proud of the vast and multinational Homeland.
Nature remains to be the main theme of the RGO photo competition. However, in some nominations, the artists have an opportunity to introduce their fellow countrymen, compatriots, tell their life story, show the viewer people living nearby, admire their work and creativity.
Every nomination of the RGO photo competition The Most Beautiful Country serves a magical portal to a wonderful and attractive world that can be explored endlessly: Landscape, Wild Animals, Birds, Magic of the Elements, Russia from a Bird’s-Eye View, Russia in Faces, Living Archive, The Art of Wildlife (Art Photo), Macroworld, and Shot on a Smartphone.
All submitted works will be reviewed by an expert commission consisting of professional photographers and photo editors. The experts will determine the finalists in each nomination, after which the jury will choose the winners.
The jury of the contest The Most Beautiful Country traditionally includes famous photographers, film directors, actors, art critics. In 2023, the winners will be determined by President of the Russian Geographical Society Sergei Shoigu, Russian wildlife photographer Sergei Gorshkov, Roscosmos test cosmonaut Ivan Vagner, theatre and film actor, director and screenwriter Sergey Garmash, theatre and film actor, director and producer Vladimir Mashkov, Italian wildlife photographer Marco Urso, Russian photographer Olga Michi, British photographer Andrew Parkinson, Russian wildlife photographer, winner of the 8th photo competition The Most Beautiful Country in the nomination Wild Animals Konstantin Shatenev, travel photographer Sergei Anisimov.
The works of all finalists will be published in a colorful photo album and included in exhibitions held in various countries of the world.
