Future of Electronic Libraries in Russia

Today Russian State Library together with Main Computer Centre under the Russian Federation Ministry of Culture and Russian Association of Electronic Libraries has organized Internet-conference entitled “Electronic Libraries and Forthcoming Budgetary Area Reform”. The reform discussed at the conference suggests granting a status of independent, budgetary or state organizations to the budgetary establishments in social sphere. The transfer of Electronic Library as a type of property to independent, budgetary or state establishments and other issues related to the reform were discussed at the Conference. General Director of Russian State Library V.V. Fedorov, the Director for Information of Russian State Library A.I. Visly, Director of the Russian Association of Electronic Libraries I.A.
