Russian language: ‘Russian language as a mirror of culture’

In Udmurtia’s national library there was opened the exposition called ‘Russian language as a mirror of culture’. The reason to organize such an exposition was the order N 195 of Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation that determined the list of dictionaries and reference books indicating the norms of the modern Russian literary language. Some of the changes to the rules have caused a a heated reaction in scientific and social circles.

The exposition will present the dictionaries included in this list as well as classic dictionaries that had been enjoying authority with different categories of population for a long time.

The exposition will also present the editions about the history of Russian literary language development including significant reforms of Peter I age and the reform of Russian orthography of 1917-1918.
