Russian language abroad: Russian language school in Estonia

15 September 2009

Russian language school under the Institute of Pushkin will open in Tallinn for the fifth time already. According to the head of the project Maria Neverdinova, there will be over 40 students from Estonian and Russian schools ‘for whom Russian is a mother tongue but is needed to be corrected and developed’.

There will be 4 groups of different age at the school.  The first group will accommodate children of 1-3 forms, the second – children of 4-6 forms and the third one – children of 7-9 forms.  The fourth group will take care of those children who just need to pull up their Russian. They study at Estonian schools but their parents speak Russian.  Under the guidance of experienced teachers the pupils will study speech development, rules of their mother tongue, Russian literature and culture.

The classes will be held on Saturdays and Sundays.
