The Russian language abroad: the Round table “Russian world in Austria”

On September 2 in the Russian center of science and culture (RCSC) in Vienna took place the round table “The Russian world in Austria”. In the session participated the director of RCSC in Vienna O.Yu. Ksenofontov, pro-rector of the international cooperation of the Institute of Russian language named after A.S. Pushkin N.I. Smirnova, the chairman of the Austrian Society of the Second World War Veterans A. E. Kuhar, the chairman of Coordination council of the Russian compatriots in Vienna I. N. Muchkina. The fund “Russian world” was represented by the executive deputy director T.V. Bokova, the director of European programs A.A. Gromyko, the head of education projects department I.A. Stepanova and grants department official O.V. Vintaikina.

In the limits of the round table the presentation of the “Russian world” fund was held. A.A. Gromyko told about the main areas of fund activities. T.V. Bokova presented in detail the program “Cabinets of Rusian world”. I.A. Stepanova described the educational programs. O.V. Vintaikina told about the grants of the “Russian world” fund in particular about a new statute about grants program.

The questions of compatriots who represented different European countries concerned for the most part the possibilities of participation in different programs of the fund and also the obtaining of grants. Besides, the participants expressed their gratitude to the fund’s employees.

After that the Coordination council of the Russian compatriots and the courses of Russian language under RCSC were granted with the complex of education media programs created by the request and with support of the “Russian world” fund.

After a small break at the round table was presented a film dedicated to 100 anniversary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the USSR Andrey Andreevitch Gromyko.
