Libraries of Russia: Annual Conference of the Heads of Federal and Central regional libraries to open in St. – Petersburg

The Annual Conference of the Heads of the Federal and Central regional libraries “Library development at the modern stage” organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the National Library of Russia, the Russian State Library and the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library will be opened from 26 – 28 October 2009 in St. – Petersburg.

The participants of the Conference are going to discuss the questions of building, reconstruction and renovation of libraries’ buildings as one of the urgent issues of the regional policy in the sphere of library science. Among the items on the agenda – creation of the Presidential Library as the new information-technological model of the library. The Conference is about to attract over 300 Heads and specialists of Russian Libraries.
