5 October 2009

The “Airis-Press” publishing house presented the book, dedicated to the life of Victorin Mikhailovich Molchanov, one of the Generals of the White movement.

For the first time the rare archival materials and photographs from the private collection on the General’s son and the collections of the Museum of Russian culture in San-Francisco have been published. The book covers the chronicle of events, the thoughts of the General, who lived in the USA, about the past, and also the unknown facts about the Civil war.

The book “The last White General” is included into the series “The White Russia”, which illustrates the history of Russian emigration.

The book is based on the interview of the worker of the Californian University Library with Victorin Molchanov in 1970. “For the first time we’re allowed to publish the recollections of the White General in Russian language and I consider it to be the great achievement in preserving the historical heritage of Russia”, - says the historian Lada Tremsina.

Victorin Mikhailovich Molchanov was the leader of the White movement on the Eastern front during the Civil War, who continued the struggle against the Bolsheviks in the Far East until the autumn of 1922.
