Russian language: Week of dictionaries and encyclopedias of Russian language launched In Lipetsk

The week of dictionaries and encyclopedias of Russian language has been launched in Lipetsk. The librarians of the Lipetsk Regional Youth Library have organized this function to commemorate the memorable date – the birthday of Vladimir Dal, the creator of the unique “Explanatory Dictionary of the Live Great Russian Language”, which is celebrated on November, 22.

“The bookstands represent around 100 dictionaries, reference books and encyclopedias of the Russian language. Due to the changes in the grammar and orthography norms the new editions, for instance, “Dictionary of correct Russian speech” of Nikolai Solovjov arouse a keen interest among the visitors”, – reports the Director of Lipetsk Regional Youth Library N. Tsyganova.

The exhibition will also display “Explanatory Dictionary of the Russian language” edited by M. Aksyonov, Yu. Antonov etc. The organizers inform, that “the librarians teach the visitors how to use the dictionaries and encyclopedias correctly”.

“The number of dictionaries and reference books is increasing every year, their popularization, familiarization of students, pupils, teachers and specialists of different areas of socio-economic life with these new books will improve the literacy level of our society”, – remarks N. Tsyganova.
