The President of Russia: Working meeting of D. A. Medvedev with the Minister of telecommunications

The Working meeting of the President of the Russian Federation D. A. Medvedev with the Minister of telecommunications Igor Shchyogolev took place on November 9 2009. At the Meeting the Minister reported the President on the prospects of the Cyrillic domain “.RF.ru” introduction.

The first new domain names could be up and running by November. Apart from this some extra services in the .RF domain (e-mail) will be accessible to every citizen of Russia. Igor Shchyogolev stressed that that service would allow to provide information requested by the users and a wide range of electronic services in no time in case there was no need in the electronic signature.    

The Minister also reported that at the International Festival of Russian Radio Stations held in the beginning of November it was had been decided to launch the International Association of Russian Radio Stations.
