
History of Russia: Calendar unveils the history of Russian-Turkish relations
The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Turkey has issued a calendar for 2010 which is dedicated the history and present state of Russian-Turkish relations.
The press service of the Russian Federation Embassy in Turkey explained that the calendar was timed for the 90th anniversary of diplomatic relations establishment between the Turkish Republic and the Russian Federation and the official opening of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Ankara.
The calendar contains a large number of archival and modern photographs. It has a special focus on the initial stage of relations’ establishment between the Soviet Russia and the new Turkey and also illustrates contemporary Russian-Turkish political, trade and economic relations.
The calendar provides a monthly chronology of memorable events of bilateral relations. It also includes photographs of the Heads of the Soviet diplomatic mission and later the Russian diplomatic mission in Ankara.
The calendar as the New-Year souvenir is distributed by the Embassy among the representatives of the government of Turkey, Turkish and Russian diplomats, parliamentarians, business and public communities. The calendar’s issue opened a number of functions, initiated by the Embassy in order to commemorate the 90th anniversary of diplomatic relations establishment between the Russian Federation and the Turkish Republic.
