
Regions of Russia: Book fair “A clever book” launched in Ivanovo
The book fair “A clever book” will be opened from 23 to 24 December in Ivanovo State Philharmonic.
It will display over 1500 books, which were published by 93 publishing houses. Among them – are fiction, educational and reference literature. Most part of represented books are brand new.
The fair’s mission is to familiarize a reader and a customer with the diversity of intellectual literature, represented at the book market of the country. Prices on fair books will be favorably lower compared to market prices.
The fair “A clever book” will host a number of functions. The opening ceremony is to take place on Dec. 23. On this day the fair organizers welcome all comers to meetings with famous writers of the country, which will take place in the State Philharmonic building. In the morning the organizers are holding a meeting with the writer, journalist, and laureate of the annual “Znamya” journal award Margarita Hemlin. Moreover, the residents of Ivanovo will have a chance to meet Alexander Arkhangelsky - Russian publicist, writer, expert in literature, author, anchorman and head of the program “Meanwhile” (TV channel “Culture”). In the end of the day – participants will meet with the writer, laureate of Man Booker Prize and “Big book” prize Ludmila Ulitskaya. The admission to the book fair “A clever book” is free.
The fair will be held in the framework of the “Big reading” program implementation, whose mission is to promote reader’s activity and popularize reading among the population. Among the organizers of the book fair “A clever book” is the Ivanovo Region Administration, Regional Department of Culture and Cultural Heritage and the Book club “36.6”.
