Internet resources: “Yandex” launches websites automatic translation into Russian

The Russian search company “Yandex” announced the launch of the new automatic translation service of the found international web sites into Russian.  

The technology of translation has been provided to “Yandex” by “Promt” company. Today this service is available to some users. Every user can join the service testing on the web site tune.yandex.ru/perevod.

The new service provides translation from 5 languages — English, German, Spanish, Italian and French. The reference “translation” will appear next to the found international websites.

“About 15 percent of the inquiries in Yandex — is printed in Roman alphabet, and the results of a search according to such inquiries often include a number of international web sites, — says the project’s manager Lidia Popelo. — Undoubtedly, the automatic translation can’t be equaled to the work of the professional translator, however it gives an opportunity to understand the general information of the international web site”.
