65th Great Victory Anniversary: Book “Soldiers of Victory.1941–1945."

Another session of the editorial board, which has been working on the publication of “Soldiers of Victory. 1941-1945.” book, was dedicated to analysis of the collected and prepared materials about the soldiers of Ryazan – the participants of the Great Patriotic War, who had returned from front. The session took place in the building of the Ryazan Regional Scientific Library n. a. A. M. Gorky and was presided by Vladimir Kravchuk, the Minister of territorial settlements affairs.

Members of the editorial board discussed the content of the first volume – “The city of Ryazan”, which will come out in commemoration of the Great Victory anniversary. 16 thousand of forms of Ryazan people have been collected specially for its publication.

The preparatory work, which involves the collection of materials for book’s publication has been carried out during a year and a half. Among the active participants of information collecting about the war veterans are the veteran’s, children and youth organizations, the kith and kin of the front-line soldiers from all the parts of the region, public organizations, libraries, archives, military registration and enlistment offices. Due to this work personal evidences about 140,000 Ryazan soldiers have been collected.

Vladimir Kravchuk remarked that the book “Soldiers of Victory. 1941-1945.” was one of the most important projects, which helped to immortalize the War participants. According to his words both the Governor and the Administration of Ryazan region have a special focus on this book’s publication.
