Digital libraries: Tibet Library to go digital

15 January 2010

The Tibet Library will be upgraded into a digital one to keep pace with the information age, according to Tenzin Drolma, curator of the library. The library in Lhasa, capital of the region, opened to the public in June 1996. It currently has three databases, namely, the CNKI Database, the Wanfang Database and the Ssreader Digital Library. The databases and the electronic reading room are open for free to the readers, who can log on after registering in the management center with their valid identity cards.
