65th Great Victory Anniversary: “They fought for their country” action in Estonia
The portal of the Russian community in Estonia - the informational partner of the International action “Russian world – Memory of the heart” - has launched a new project “They fought for their country” in commemoration of 65th anniversary of the Great Victory.
The portal’s editorial staff informs that the project’s objective is, with a help of the general public and assistance of the Embassy of Russia in Estonian Republic, to keep records of burial places, memorials, and monuments of the Great Patriotic War.
“The majority of Soviet military memorials in Estonia don’t have an official status. Therefore one can’t say with a firm, whether they are kept in proper conditions and being cared for”, – says the message, published on the project’s front page.
The editorial staff asks all people concerned, public and patriotic organizations, searchers to send all materials concerning the signs of memory of the Great Patriotic War in Estonia.
The mission of the “Russian world – Memory of the heart” action, organized by the “Russkiy Mir” foundation is to collect information on the monuments and other artefacts of Great Patriotic War which are being preserved out of the Russian Federation.
