Regions of Russia: Unified digital library network to be created in Tver oblast by 2012

Creation of the Unified digital library network in Tver oblast will be completed by 2012, informed in the press-service of the oblast Administration.

"Computerization and technical re-equipment of libraries, their archives’ digitization and integration into the single information space will be co-funded by the municipalities together with the oblast budget. This project will be supervised by the Gorky Tver Regional Universal Scientific Library", - remarked the representative of press-service.

According to his words by 2012 almost all 897 public libraries of oblast will form the unified digital network in order to render equal range of services to its patrons regardless of its location.

"In future each of these libraries will provide access to the governmental services, many of them will be rendered in the electronic format", - they added in the press-service.
