President of Russia: Visit to St. George Church

The President of Russia Dmitry A. Medvedev laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame in the Glory Alley of the town of Vidnoye, near Moscow and also visited the St George Church. This Church was founded in 2005 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Two years later it was consecrated.

The President was welcome by children – pupils of the Church’s Sunday School. They read the poem dedicated to the holiday of Orthodox Christmas and presented him a picture “Angel with the icon of Christmas”, painted by the pupils of this school. The President in his turn gave the Church a “Christmas” icon as a gift.
