Digital libraries: Peace Corps to launch Digital Library

1 January 2010

The Peace Corps announced a new digital library featuring electronic material documenting the Peace Corps between 1961 and the present. The library highlights the experiences of the organization's 200,000 volunteers, who have served in 139 countries since the organization was created by the Kennedy administration.

The digital library features historical first-hand accounts and photographs, and offers current and recent volunteers the ability to contribute their own accounts and photographs. Also included in the collections are press briefings, speeches, essays, letters, brochures, and agency photos.
