Museums: State Museum of Political History launches a remembrance exhibition of the academician A. D. Sakharov

A scientific-information center “Memorial” together with the State Museum of Political History of Russia have launched a joint travelling exhibition entitled "Andrei Sakharov: worry and hope".

The exhibition has been prepared by the Andrei Sakharov Foundation (jointly with the Public Commission for the Preservation of the Heritage of Academician Sakharov) and an International Historical, Educational, Human Rights and Charitable Society "Memorial" with support of Thomas Hammarberg, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights.

The exhibition is dedicated to A. D. Sakharov and his “principal ideas, which underlie a human rights protection ideology as one of the main principles of building the modern civilization" (annotation of organizers). The aim of an exhibition, which displays materials, articles and papers from the funds of the Museum of the Political History of Russia, is actualization of Andrei Sakharov’s heritage.
