65th Great Victory Anniversary: Moscow okrugs get colored decoration

8 February 2010

The banners, which will appear in the streets of Moscow to mark the Victory Day in 2010, will contain both Russian and English texts, announced Alexander Menchuk, first Deputy Chairman of the Advertisement, Information and City Appearance Committee of Moscow at the session of the Organizing Committee, which is responsible for organization and holding the 65th Victory anniversary celebration.

He stressed that the city would be decorated according to architectural and functional characteristics. He stated that the central theme of the city’s decoration would be the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory, while the famous poems of the siege poetess Olga Bergholz “Nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten”, would become the main motto.

“For each okrug we have created individual coloured decoration. The coloures of the Western district will be white, blue and red, in accordance with the coloures of Kutuzovsky prospect. The Central okrug will appear in the red-orange-yellow shade”, – added Mr. Menchuk.
