Regions of Russia: Ural prepares electronic Memory Book

To mark the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War Kurgan oblast is going to issue an electronic Memory book. The electronic Memory which is to appear on CDs and DVDs will include books, published in Ural and dedicated to its countrymen. 

Sections of the electronic book will introduce information about people of Ural — Heroes of the Soviet Union, holders of the Order of Glory, servicemen-internationalists and soldiers who returned home after the Great Victory. The plan is to digitize 59 editions totaling 23,000 pages.

Among the members of the working group responsible for preparation of the electronic Memory book of Kurgan oblast are Vladimir Usmanov, the advisor of the oblast Governor on patriotic upbringing, representatives of the Chief Department of Education, the Department of Culture, the Committee on archives’ management. Marina Kalugina, Deputy Governor of oblast on Social Policy, presides over the working group.

The electronic Memory book of Kurgan oblast will be available on the Internet.
