Library Associations: IFLA announces new training program

IFLA announces the Building Strong Library Associations (BSLA) program, a new IFLA program to be delivered under the Action for Development through Libraries program (ALP). The program is currently in development and will be launched in September 2010.

The BSLA program has been developed with extensive input from some of the library world's most experienced library association experts, including current and past library association presidents and executives from all over the world. The comprehensive program offers a strategic and coordinated approach to capacity building and sustainability of library associations for the benefit of associations, libraries, and their communities.

Training content in the program includes support to develop the effectiveness of library associations in strategic planning and financial management, organizational sustainability, developing strategic relationships and fundraising.
