Regions of Russia: Arkhangelsk holds regional stage of “My country – my Russia” contest

From January, 25 to March, 1 2010 the department of youth policy of the Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of Arkhangelsk oblast holds a regional stage of the All-Russian contest of youth projects “My country – my Russia”, which is aimed at the social and economic development of Russian territories. The contest’s goal is to attract the youth in order to challenge urgent problems of Russian territories (villages, cities and regions). The regional administration’s press service informs that this contest will arouse interest among young people and bring them together in order to handle the problems of social and economic development of Russia, and moreover it will help to prepare the staff reserve for work in the governmental structures and municipal  government.

Citizens of Russia aged from 18 to 25 are welcome to take part in the contest: pupils and students of colleges, technical colleges, universities, postgraduates, young scholars, young deputies, manual workers and employees, young businessmen, representatives of the youth parliamentary structures of different levels. To become a participant an applicant should prepare a project (program) in one or several categories declared by the organizers, which meet the goals and objectives of the contest.

Best projects will be submitted by the regional organizing committee to the organizing committee of the All-Russian contest of youth projects to continue competition at the second (federal) stage.
