Information technology and society: Strategy for computer technology development will be considered in Moscow

‘Infospace’ Forum to be held in Moscow will cover the issues of the development of computer technologies, telecommunications and space communication. According to its organizers the subject is chosen ‘due to the key role of information and communication technologies in modernization of the Russian econony’.

Specialized ministries and departments representatives, scientists and businessmen will consider in particular the prospects of use of supercomputers for technological upgrade of space sector, atomic energetic, aviation and automobile industry, information and communication technologies benefits for prevention and liquidation of emergencies. ‘The issue of breaking the dependence of Russian industry on supercomputer technologies import will also be discussed’, - announced the Forum organizing committee.

As a part of the Forum will take place a meeting of the Inter-departmental working group for innovation legislation under the President’s administration covering the topic of space technologies. On its agenda: GLONASS prospects, issues of global communication and digital broadcast in Russia and evaluation of damages from comets and asteroids activity.
