Regions of Russia: New museum to open in Ural

The historical museum-prison cell will open in Tyumen inside a prison castle, which in 19th c. served as a transit prison. Among its prisoners were Decembrists and writers F. M. Dostoevsky, N. G. Chernyshevsky and V. G. Korolenko.   

"The museum-prison cell will be located in the prison castle, which was built in 1786 by the order of Catherine II of Russia. We hope that by mid. July the “cell of history” will open for visitors”, - Galina Legoshina, lieutenant colonel of internal service, who took an active part in creation of the museum informed to the “Interfax-Ural” agency.
