Society and Church: The first Orthodox church opens in Germany

The first Orthodox school in Germany is opening in Hamburg.

Sergei Baburin, the archpriest and Father Superior of the Church of St. John of Kronstadt in Hamburg, told that it would take him about a year to obtain authorization to open a new school. According to him the classes are scheduled for 2011-2012.

Apart from religious subjects in German, the education program will include teaching of the native language of pupils, in particular, Russian, Serbian, Greek and Romanian.
