IT and society: Internet access as a basic human right

According to the latest polls, which brought together more than 27,000 people from 26 countries worldwide, the majority consider Internet access to be one of the basic human rights.

Almost every fourth respondent claims, that Internet should be “the fundamental right of all people”. This figure has been provided by the new global report of BBC World Service.

Already now Internet access has become a basic right of every citizen in Finland and Estonia.
