Presidential Library: Meeting under the aegis of the RF President authorized representative in the North-Western federal district
On April 29, 2010 in the Boris Yeltsin Presidential Library took place a meeting under the aegis of the RF President authorized representative in the North-Western federal district. For the first time in the library gathered the Ministers and Heads of Culture Committees of all territories of the North-West. During the meeting was developed a project on creating a branch network of the Presidential Library in the region before 2013.
The Presidential Library is reaching a new line in creation of regional branch network. Along with the activities related to setting up the branches in all Russian Federation territories – republics and regions – the Presidential Library starts to cooperate with federal districts also.
‘Every branch created in the North-Western district makes its contribution to the formation of the all-Russian information environment applying to the unique local information resources: archives, libraries holdings and museums. The citizens of the North-Western federal district in their turn benefit from access to the entire content of the national portal’, - said the Director Deputy for branches S. M. Makeev.
A. V. Kibovsky, the Head of the Federal agency for legislation observation in the field of cultural heritage preservation, spoke at the meeting. The specialist of the Presidential Library made the following presentations in multimedia complex: ‘Project of branches creation in the regions’ and ‘Development of the regional information basis’. Microsoft company representative office in Russia presented its project ‘The strategy for information society building’.
On October 28, 2009 took place the First All-Russian working meeting on creation the branches of the Presidential Library. During the meeting were signed the agreements on cooperation with Tyumen and Omsk regions, Tatarstan, Chuvashia and Buryatia Republics. The next meeting on the regional branch network development will be held in May-June in the Far East federal district.
