Russian language: Days of Russian language and literature mounted in Nizhniy Novgorod

Days of Russian language and Literature have been mounted at the philological department of the N. I.  Lobachevsky Nizhniy Novgorod State University.

The multifaceted program of the Days includes master classes and lectures of the leading linguists of Russia, round tables sessions, seminars, an exhibition of academic literature, a survey of participants regarding problems of existence of Russian language and teaching it, announcement of results of a creative contest held among teachers of Russian language and literature, journalists, students of philological departments and pupils of gymnasiums.

Organizers claim that the aim of the Days of Russian language and Literature is to estimate contemporary situation and tendencies of further development of the Russian language in the beginning of the new millennium, attract attention to the functioning of Russian language in new communicative conditions, coordinate work of teachers of Russian language at secondary and higher schools, discuss the role of Mass Media in shaping speech habits of contemporary native speakers of Russian language.

The events will close on April, 24.

Days of Russian language and Literature have been organized by the Russian Society of Teachers of Russian language and literature (ROPRYAL) and the N. I.  Lobachevsky Nizhniy Novgorod State University.
