The National Library of France (Bibliothèque nationale de France, BNF) has currently donated 500,000 books to the Library of Alexandria (Bibliotheca Alexandrina) (Egypt). First containers with invaluable works have already arrived to Egypt.

In order to highlight a historical importance of this event, due to which the Bibliotheca Alexandrina is going to become one of the largest francophone libraries of the world, the principal partners of the project – the National Library of France, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Culture Council of the Mediterranean Union and the Embassy of France in Egypt have organized a cultural event – meeting of celebrated writers of Mediterranean.

Writers participated in the round table entitled “Create in Mediterranean” in order to understand the reality and discuss ideas of Mediterranean belonging.
