Due to the edition “Guide to digital libraries”, issued by Editions Fyp publishing house, virtual reading will stop being confusing for users.

This guide contains a registration card for each and every digital library, which in a detailed way represents the library’s documents’ holdings, cultural portals, virtual expositions, bibliographic lists and educational resources, available online. This is followed by thematic classification, which can come in handy, because people can be lost in an avalanche of information.

Undoubtedly, the “Guide to digital libraries”, is not a panacea, however it is a good opportunity for users to get a command of “digital lexis”. The guide’s compiler - Chloé Martin, is sure, that digital libraries will have a bright future. “Librarians are becoming providers and advisors on the choice of content, thus increasing access to information and culture”, - says the author.

This guide, whose preface has been written by Michel Fauchié, President of the Association on promotion of digital documents at libraries (l’Association pour le développement des documents numériques en bibliothèques), will certainly become an irreplaceable assistant for both professionals and lovers of “digital know-how”.
