
Session of the Experts Council of the State Duma Committee launched at the Presidential Library
On April, 5 2010 the Boris Yeltsin Presidential library held a session of the regional branch of the Experts Council of the State Duma Committee on Public Associations and Religious Organizations chaired by the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee V. I. Zakharyashchev. It brought together representatives of religious organizations and traditional confessions. Proposals, made at the session, will be taken into consideration within the Committee’s lawmaking policy.
Following the session’s agenda participants discussed bills “On cultural heritage objects”, “July 28 – Day of Baptism of Rus” and the one regarding introduction of the Military Chaplain Institute.
Before answering the questions of journalists, V. I. Zakharyashchev congratulated all the Orthodox believers with the holiday of Easter. The First Deputy stressed the necessity to simplify the procedure of land acquisition for Sunday schools organizations, especially taking into account a large number of children, who are not involved into work of social organizations and also turned spotlight on problems, which aroused during the preparatory work on the law regarding introduction of the Military Chaplain Institute.
The first session of the Experts Council of the State Duma Committee on Public Associations and Religious Organizations after the beginning of work of the renewed membership of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation took place on May, 15 2008.
