65th Great Victory anniversary: Motor racing Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – Brest to mark the Victory Day
The motor racing Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – Brest kicked off in Kamchatka in order to mark 65th Victory anniversary in the Great Patriotic War.
The event has been initiated by the “Square wheel” Kamchatsk off-road vehicles fans’ club and the regional branch of the “United Russia” party with a support of the Administration of Kamchatsk krai.
Today participants of the project boarded the motor ship heading Vladivostok. The main vehicle of the event is the legendary truck ZIS-5. The motorcade will then leave Vladivostok for Moscow and after that drive to Brest. During the whole motor racing event the truck will drive with a flying flag bearing a symbolic note “To Berlin” and a copy of the Victory banner. The motorcade will make stops in large cities in order to hold functions marking the Victory Day.
In Brest participants of the motor racing will give the Great Patriotic War veterans memorial cartridge cases with ground from the place of final battles on the Kurile Islands, which led to the complete defeat of Japanese Army.
