Society and Church: Patriarch Kirill sets a task to pass Slavic culture to the 22nd c.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia called contemporaries to pass the Slavic culture to the generation of 22nd c.
"Our written language and our culture cover different generations, who are going to live after us, bring up their children and grandchildren, people of the 22nd c. And our task is to pass our culture and our spirit to that century, which is still far away from us", - the Patriarch Kirill said after he was awarded an Order of Peace and Progress on May 27 at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
The Order was presented to the Patriarch within the framework of the award ceremony of the international prize named after Saints Cyril and Methodius, which was given to the laureates by the Patriarch himself.
The award of Saints Cyril and Methodius was established by the Moscow Patriarchate and the Russian Slavic Foundation. It recognizes people, who made significant contribution to the development of Slavic peoples’ culture.
