Russian culture abroad: Evening of Victory in Thessaloniki

The State Conservatory of Thessaloniki held a concert, dedicated to 65th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. It was organized by the Russian Center in Thessaloniki under the aegis of the Consulate General of Russia and with a support of the Russian-Greek society “Friendship” and “Friends of the European idea” Association.

The concert brought together representatives of the Russian and Greek language communities, General Consul of Russia A. A. Popov, military attaché A. Bogorodsky, founder of the Russian Center A. Kinigopulos and many others.

The head of the Russian Center, N. V. Suponitskaya delivered a welcoming speech. All the participants had a chance to view fragments of the documentary newsreels of war years and listen to favorite war-time songs. Pupils of the Russian Center recited Russian and Greek war poems.
