Russian language abroad: International seminar for teachers of Russian language launched in Austria

On 23 – 24 May at the University of Salzburg the Russian International school (Austria) jointly with the People’s Friendship University of Russia with a support of the “Russkiy Mir” foundation are holding the Second International scientific and practical seminar for teachers of Russian language aimed at introduction of innovative methods of Russian language teaching based on the new coursebook for 2nd form, developed with a support of the “Russkiy Mir” foundation for foreign schools.

The seminar brought together teachers of Russian language from twenty EU countries. The seminar’s program includes holding of the round table highlighting textbooks for Russian language for schools abroad, discussion of introduction of the new coursebook “Russian language for foreign schools”, exchange of opinions of teachers and authors of the new coursebook, presentation of a series of textbooks for Russian language for 2nd form of foreign schools, announcing the coursebook set for 3rd form.

In 2009 for the first time lately with a support of the “Russkiy Mir” foundation was issued a course book for children of compatriots, living abroad entitled “Russian language and reading for foreign schools” (1 form).
